The first thing that might come to mind when you picture this rock is a humble little piece of broken sidewalk chalk. But this variety of limestone has a lofty side too. In fact, it’s the very same stuff that makes up the soaring and majestic White Cliffs of Dover in England. Whether grand or humble, this rock is best known for being pure, soft, and often strikingly white. This purity, combined with the fact that it’s a treasured plaything of children all over the world, make it the perfect symbol of childlike innocence. That’s why it might be surprising to learn that it was formed out of the death and decay of millions of tiny sea creatures. What a wonderful reminder that wherever you’ve come from, you remain innocent at your core and can rise above your past. Whether you’re an adult, a teenager, or still a child yourself, now is a great time to get in touch with and protect that younger version of yourself.

“Your answer in some way involves childhood.”

One Or More Of These Messages Are For You

    • Now is a great time to get back in touch with things that brought you joy when you were younger.
    • Treat yourself with the kindness, love, and understanding you would give a very young child.
    • If your family history or childhood was, or is, dark, violent, or traumatic, please know you can and will rise above it.
    • If you’re still a child or teenager, don’t grow up too fast. If you’ve been spending time on places online meant for older folks, it might be causing you more harm than you realize.
    • Don’t let anyone mock you for liking games, toys, or shows they think are too childish. They’re the ones with the problem, not you.
    • If you’re stuck in feelings of guilt or shame for anything you might have done, please forgive yourself now and know that you’re innocent at your core.
    • Even if you feel small and powerless, know that you’re capable of inspiring awe.
    • Drawing or art therapy could open you to the insights, solutions, and healing you seek.
