Charoite

Found only in Russia, charoite is a silicate mineral so vividly purple, many assume it must be dyed. But its violet hue is real, as are its characteristically lovely swirling patterns of white and gray. Although it’s often confused with other purple rocks such as sugilite, amethyst, and lepidolite, those in the know can always tell charoite apart by these unique and complex waves, bands, speckles, and spots.
