Diabase
When it comes to rocks, many mistake hardness for strength and think that if a rock is hard, it must also be strong. But geologists know that even the hardest rock can be easy to shatter. What makes a rock strong isn’t how hard it is to cut but its ability to withstand a lot of force before breaking. Judging by that measure, diabase, which is also known as diorite or “black granite,” is one of the strongest rocks in the world. Since it’s impermeable and therefore resistant to erosion, the humans who built Stonehenge must have known what they were doing when they decided to create their monument out of diabase. It’s been used ever since anywhere we need great strength. If diabase is showing up for you now, it may be to reassure you that, even if you’ve been under a tremendous amount of pressure lately, your core is strong and you’re going to be just fine. In fact, you’ll likely outlast them all.
The Bottom Line
STRENGTH
“You are stronger than you know.”
One Or More Of These Messages Are For You

- Whatever thing you were thinking about when choosing your cards, know it’s strong and will not break.
- If there’s something you care about, make sure to put a solid, strong base under it.
- If there’s something you need to do but you’re hesitating because it seems too difficult, go ahead and do it anyway.
- Don’t confuse strength with hardness: Strong people often have soft hearts, and hard people are easily shattered.
- It’s a good time to be stronger, but not a good time to harden your heart.
- You may be hurting right now, but you will tough it out.
