When they say nothing cuts like a diamond, they mean it literally. Known for being the hardest mineral on Earth, there’s nothing more cutting than a saw made from powdered diamond. But what few people realize is that being hard doesn’t make it tough. Diamond is actually pretty brittle and shatters more easily than most would expect. That doesn’t stop diamond from being one of our most expensive stones, but unfortunately this popularity has created an industry that is as cutting and hard as diamond itself. With a uniquely bloody and cruel legacy, no wonder it’s nicknamed “the heartless stone.” Even the most famous diamond in the world is said to carry a curse, bringing evil and even death upon those who own it.
