Granite

Granite

Here’s one rock that will always be taken for granite. Super tough and durable, this igneous rock has remained one of the most common building rocks throughout all of human history for good reason. From the counters in your kitchen to the floors and walls of our most important buildings, things made from granite are built to last. Mother nature clearly agrees, since many of our most iconic mountain ranges are formed out of it, from Yosemite in California to the core of the Himalayas to the Andes in South America, among many others. So it’s no surprise that humans, too, choose granite when building monuments they want to last an eternity, ranging from Machu Picchu in Peru to Mount Rushmore in the United States. Clearly, this is a rock that endures, and if it’s popping up for you, it’s a good sign that whatever you’re working on right now is going to last as well.

The Bottom Line

BUILT TO LAST
“What you build now will endure.”
