If you’re familiar with the expressions about having “iron will” or “steely determination,” you’ll have a good sense of the essence of hematite. Our most important source of iron ore, hematite even looks like steel when polished, taking on a smooth, silvery, almost molten-looking sheen. But when the iron in hematite hits oxygen, it turns it as red as rust or blood. No wonder the ancient Greeks named this mineral hematite, after their word for “bloodlike.” And just as iron is what gives steel its strength, it’s what makes our blood strong too, which is why we weaken and become anemic when we don’t have enough. If hematite is showing up for you now, something is likely happening, or perhaps on its way, that you’re going to need to be strong for. But don’t worry, because hematite is also here to reassure you that you do, in fact, have all the will and strength you need to get through. Just stay determined, and everything is going to be okay.

The Bottom Line

DETERMINATION
“An iron will can get you through anything.”

One Or More Of These Messages Are For You

    • Don’t give up! Set your mind to finish what you started.
    • You can reach your goals, but you may need steely determination to get there.
    • Don’t be afraid to face what’s coming: You’re going to power through.
    • There are times when it’s best to let go and ease up, and times when you need to dig in and work harder. This is one of the latter times.
    • You have the stubbornness and strength to go the distance.
    • You might soon be called on to lend your considerable strength to help someone pull through to the finish line.
    • If you’ve been feeling weak or sick lately, see your doctor about possible anemia.
