Let’s face it: Nature is cool. Unfortunately, many of us go around with our heads hung low, transfixed by our glowing screens, completely missing the miracles unfolding all around us. But every now and then, if we’re lucky, we come across something that snaps us out of our stupor. In the mineral world, one such something is the mineral rose. Stumbling across a mineral rose, also called a rock rose or, in some cases, a desert rose, you can feel like you’ve found a tiny gift left in your path, just for you. You might bend down to examine it, then find yourself lost in the wonder of how such a delicate, complex, flower-like object could have been formed out of nothing but rock, water, and maybe some wind, and time. Sometimes it’s these little unexpected treats that can most powerfully pull us out of our doldrums and up into awe. If mineral roses are showing up for you now, take it as a message that nature is trying to wake you up to the gifts of wonder and awe too. Get outside, walk with your head up and your eyes open, and receive all the gifts this big, bright, beautiful world is trying its best to give you.

The Bottom Line

WONDER
“Open yourself up to gifts from the universe.”

One Or More Of These Messages Are For You

Have you become disconnected from the natural world lately? Consider this a message sent to you from nature herself, calling you back. Mineral roses can be made from many different minerals, and one of them might be here with a message just for you. See if one of these speaks to your heart:

  • Gypsum rose: Tune in especially to gifts of magic and mystery. Sometimes we think we humans have it all figured out, and certainly science has answered many important questions. But there’s still so much we don’t yet understand. Be open to the inexplicable, and you may find yourself crossing over into a whole new world of wonder.
  • Baryte rose: Quite rare, a baryte rose is your sign to seek your gifts from the heaviest and most grounded aspects of nature. Are the mountains calling you? Or perhaps you’re drawn deep into caves, or the depths of the ocean? Or perhaps you have a connection with deeply rooted trees, or it’s Earth’s heaviest, sturdiest animals who want to connect with you.
  • Hematite rose: Another rare one, a hematite rose may mean you’ll be gifted with a sudden burst of strength, determination, or iron will, just when you need it most. Alternately, it could be a “hello” from the planet Mars, urging you to seek out the wonders of nature beyond our own planet, out into our solar system and beyond.
  • Pyrite rose: Bright, shiny and brassy-gold, a pyrite rose could be either a sign that a gift of money is coming your way, or an acknowledgement that you yourself are a miracle who brings many gifts to the world.
  • Calcite rose: A calcite rose represents the gifts of freedom and choice, perfect for when you feel trapped and need a new door to miraculously open. Keep your eyes open, and you might find a new opportunity or adventure opening itself to you.
