What has the coloring of a tiger, the stripes of a tiger, and a tiger’s eye at its center? Tiger’s eye, of course! But its appearance is only the start of this mineral’s resemblance to an apex predator. It could even be considered a kind of predator itself, seeing as it “eats” another mineral to live. That’s not just any mineral, either, but a kind of toxic asbestos which, as it dissolves, stains the Tiger’s Eye with iron, giving it those characteristic stripes of copper, amber, and brown color. It’s often cut and polished to show off its colors and sheen, and the most prized specimens also have a vertical band of light that can make you feel like you’re staring directly into a feline’s eye as you move the stone. Taken all together, what mineral could better symbolize the wild power and confidence of an apex predator? If this stone is roaring in your direction, it’s time to awaken the big bad predator within you. And don’t worry about anyone standing in your way: You’ll likely be eating them for lunch.

The Bottom Line

CONFIDENCE
“Go after what you want with conviction and power.”

One Or More Of These Messages Are For You

    • If there’s something you want, go for it!
    • You have every right to go after your goals, so don’t feel bad about pursuing them with passion.
    • This is not the time to be meek or self-effacing.
    • Stare your fears straight in the eye and stop acting like prey.
    • Realize how much power you actually have and start using it, even if that means you have to “fake it till you make it.”
    • People think of confidence as something you either have, or don’t have. In reality it’s a skill that can be worked on and developed.
    • A big part of confidence is learning to easily move past your flubs, mistakes, and embarrassments. If you treat them like they’re no big deal, they won’t be!
