What ruby actually is, is the red gem variety of the mineral corundum, the second hardest mineral on Earth. Its deep, glittering color comes from the presence of chromium, which itself is known for being a particularly hard and resistant element. All of this makes ruby the perfect messenger that it’s our fire and passion that makes us strong, resilient, and tough.
